For over a decade, the Tacony Community Development Corporation has been making a name for itself serving the Tacony neighborhood and the Torresdale Avenue Business Corridor; offering small business services and advocating for the beautiful buildings and incredible people in our little corner of the Northeast. But more recently, we’ve shifted into a broader focus to provide even more services and connections. From assisting residents with navigating the complicated Philadelphia housing system, to advocating for our greenery and activating public spaces all over Tacony. It’s because of an increased sense of collaboration in Tacony that we’ve been able to do so much, and that’s why we’ve decided to rebrand the Tacony CDC as Tacony Together! We want the name of our organization to honor the partnerships we hold so dear, and the people in this community who are helping us and pushing us to be better.
To support the transition from Tacony CDC to Tacony Together, we’re excited to be working with Spacious, an organization which provides branding and web design services to nonprofits in the Philadelphia area. Thanks to their help, we’re pleased to show off our new logo: which includes floral and industrial elements to represent the past and future of Tacony. We are also looking forward to the launch of our new website, taconytogether.org! This new site provides a comprehensive look at all of the work we’re doing, as well as opportunities for connection and collaboration within the community. Including an events calendar, a job and volunteer opportunities board, and maps of Tacony’s businesses and available commercial properties.
Thank you to PACDC for making this rebrand and new website possible, we’re lucky to be part of such a wonderful organization!
These changes have been in the works for some time, and we’re so pleased to finally get to share them with you! Another exciting opportunity for us is our recent move to 6940 Torresdale Avenue, where Tacony community members can stop in to visit us on weekdays between 10AM and 5PM (except Wednesdays! Come see us at the Tacony Library at 6742 Torresdale Avenue on Wednesdays).
The future of Tacony is bright, and the staff and board at Tacony Together is excited to work towards it with you: together!
