Residential Housing Support

Beginning in 2025, Tacony was granted the Neighborhood Advisory Committee (NAC) Grant through the Division of Housing and Urban Development. This grant allows Tacony Together to hire a NAC Coordinator to link Tacony residents to housing services in the area and in the city. The NAC Coordinator conducts outreach both physically and virtually to residents experiencing Tangled Titles, Tax and Mortgage Foreclosure, and Rental Eviction.

Additionally, the NAC Coordinator tables at and attends events in the neighborhood, and delivers housing news and programs. The NAC coordinator is also responsible for:

  • Forming a Neighborhood Advisory Subcommittee, formed of neighborhood volunteers who help distribute and refer residents to housing services and give feedback to the City of Philadelphia on the housing needs of the neighborhood.
  • Hosting 4 quarterly Service Area Briefings each year, inviting guests speakers and experts to share relevant information about topical housing issues and provide residents with immediate assistance.
  • Assisting with Quality of Life concerns and neighborhood projects, such as the Community Garden and charitable programs.
  • Maintaining a quarterly newsletter with program information and services that is regularly updated.

Environmental Action

We partner with organizations and educational institutions to undertake projects including environmental justice plans, environmental programming, and access to green space and outdoor activities. We also partnered with the Tacony Community Garden to establish a large community garden in Disston Park at the corner of Longshore Avenue and Keystone Street.
